Christchurch Creative gets set for London Design Week

London Design Week

London Design Week details:

It seems this year’s London Design Week programme is jam-packed as you’d expect from one of this season’s most anticipated and influential interiors events. You will be spoilt for choice with an enticing selection of workshops, talks, demonstrations and discovery tours. Furthermore, they will all be hosted by luxury brands, leading design professionals, influencers and tastemakers.

In the meantime, we are especially looking forward to the meet-the-designer talks, presentations and the artisan demonstrations. Let’s not forget those important behind-the-scenes glimpses about how the different collections on show were conceived.

Brand collaboration

The ‘Legends’ initiative is new for London Design Week 2018. This sees a collaboration of icons from the worlds of design, decoration, art, fashion and architecture. As a result, they create a selection of unique showroom windows and showcases. So this is sure to be hugely inspirational! It will be hard to choose whose work we’re most excited about seeing, but Loewe with Morris & Co at Style Library sounds like an intriguing combination. We’re also looking forward to Gert Voorjans with Jim Thompson, and Studio Kamini with The Silk Gallery.

One of the biggest challenges at London Design Week is always going to be fitting everything in. So we think the Design Discover Tour, at 2.30pm on Sunday 4th March, is a great idea. This free guided tour, hosted by Country & Town House, offers an insider’s curated view of the highlights. Also, this tour even includes a glass of fizz. It’s sure to provide a useful and enjoyable overview of all the industry’s biggest names, and their key pieces for Spring/Summer 2018.

Dining out

Of course, even the food & drink at London Fashion Week is in a class of its own. Top of our ‘rest and refuel’ list is the FT How To Spend It restaurant. Their Art Deco materials palette looks most noteworthy and features luxurious pastels, soft metallic and sumptuous textures. We hear the wine list is pretty impressive too!

We’ll also be making time for a pit-stop or two at Perky Blenders. After all, it’s one of our favourite speciality coffee connoisseurs. We’re huge fans of both their hand-picked beans and their ethical expertise. Caffeine without compromise: the perfect combination for a such a busy, buzzy event.

Entrance to London Design Week is free and there is courtesy transport available. For more information, visit www.dcch.co.uk
